On Behalf of the Breast Cancer awareness month, Colombo Cooperative along with Mithuruwela brings to you this free event!
About this Event
Mithuruwela is a non-profit organization established in 2005 by a group of cancer survivors, healthcare personnel and well-wishers to support cancer patients and their care-givers in Sri Lanka.
Their activities focus on conducting awareness sessions in all parts of the country to groups of people on all aspects of cancer mainly focusing on breast cancer, providing befriending services through a network of trained volunteers
Mithuruwela also has a medical fund which aims to assist patients who are unable to purchase much needed drugs. This is done solely on prescriptions forwarded to us from the hospital.
Dr Dulani Beneragama Faculty of Medicine, University of Sri Jayawardenepura and Dr Thushan Beneragama, Consultant Surgeon, National Hospital Colombo will speak on dealing with breast cancer & raise awareness on how you can identify it in the early stages.
A survivor speaks - Mala Thalayasingam Attorney-at-Law, Co-founder/Mithuruwela will be sharing her story of overcoming cancer and how she continues to change lives by doing what she does
